ARTIST STATEMENT

Photography is my language with the world. Having my senses on heightened alert and open to all possibilities that may present themselves at any given moment. In particular, I find myself interested in old and unwanted objects and the stories they have to tell. I am also drawn to shapes such as triangles, circles, and abstract patterns that strike a subconscious primal cord of familiarly and creative design. Trees and nature are also a constant source of inspiration, as I have always considered these my surrogate mother and home, and feel most at peace in the wilderness. Most of my imagery reflects my day to day life and is unrehearsed, unplanned, and presents itself as a gift from the universe. See my website for more information www.alisonwattjackson.com
